His childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma said in an interview, ‘I salute him for his tremendous contribution to Indian cricket and as a coach I am proud of what he has done for the country and the example he has set for the youth.’
He further said, ‘Emotionally, it is sad that we will not be able to see him in the white jersey for the country again. I appreciate his decision and support him… Hopefully he will be there to win the ODI World Cup for India and he will be 100 percent committed to it.’

Virat Kohli scored 7 double centuries
If we look at Kohli’s Test career, he has scored 9230 runs in 123 matches at an average of 46.85. Which includes 30 centuries and 31 half-centuries. Kohli has scored seven double centuries, four of which came in two consecutive series, which is a world record. His highest Test score is 254*, which came against South Africa in Pune in 2019.
