England Team Is Carefully Managing The Workload Of Jofra Archer, Is There A Big Plan Hidden Behind It?

The England team is carefully managing the workload of Jofra Archer given his injury history. Know how the team management is planning for Archer’s return.

The England team management does not want to take any risk with fast bowler Jofra Archer under any circumstances, especially considering his injury history. In such a situation, England will continue its policy of taking a cautious approach along with managing the workload of Jofra Archer in their upcoming five-match ODI series against Australia.

The Third Match Was Canceled Due To Rain

The 29-year-old Archer performed brilliantly in the first T20 match of the 3 matches played against Australia, taking 2 wickets for 31 runs, but he was not included in the playing XI of the second match. At the same time, the third match was canceled due to rain, giving Archer a break again.

So now this series can continue in the upcoming five-match ODI series starting from September 19 at Trent Bridge. That is, Archer will not be played in all the matches even in the entire series of five ODIs.

Jos Buttler Gave This Statement About Jofra Archer

England’s limited overs captain Jos Buttler has confirmed that Archer’s workload will be managed throughout the series. He indicated that Archer may not play in most of the matches because the overs and the intensity of the game in ODI cricket are higher than in T20 matches. Butler also said that the team’s goal is to get Archer back to Test cricket as soon as possible.

Butler told Sky Sports, “Archer will have to be managed carefully throughout the series. He is doing well in T20 cricket, but there you only bowl four overs. There is a lot of difference in overs and intensity in ODIs, and we want him to return to Test cricket soon.” England’s interim head coach Marcus Trescothick said that Archer is aware of the team’s plan and is feeling comfortable with it. He also said that the team management is looking at a big goal and all the coaches, physios and directors are working together on Archer’s fitness.

Trescothick said, “Jofra is already aware of the plan and It is decided before every match whether he will play or not. We know what we have to do and he is comfortable with it. This is part of a big plan, which involves coaches, directors, physios and everyone else. His workload will also be managed in the ODI series.”
