Bellingham Says Sorry to Real Madrid Fans

Real Madrid trailed by three goals after the first leg. Jude Bellingham had promised to turn things around in the return match at home. But he couldn’t keep that promise. Instead, Real Madrid lost again and was knocked out of the Champions League quarter-finals. Because of this, Bellingham apologized to the fans.

Real Madrid lost 3-0 to Arsenal in the first leg. They needed a big comeback at the Santiago Bernabeu to stay in the Champions League. But this time, Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe couldn’t make it happen.

Madrid lost the second leg 2-1, and Arsenal advanced to the semi-finals with a 5-1 win on aggregate. It’s Arsenal’s first time in the Champions League semis since 2009. Real Madrid, who have won the tournament six times in the last 10 years, were knocked out before reaching the semis this time.

On Thursday, Bellingham posted on Instagram, saying, “We didn’t live up to the club’s expectations in both matches. Sorry, Madridistas.”

He also wrote, “We know how much these nights and this competition mean to you. There’s still hope for a title this season, but only if we stay united. Real Madrid will bounce back!”

Bellingham was not alone—midfielder Dani Ceballos also shared a message. On social media, he wrote: “Sorry, and thank you for supporting us all week until the end of the game. We’ll do everything we can to meet your expectations for the rest of the season. Real Madrid always comes back stronger.”
