Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha is enjoying a great season. He has been in top form for Wolverhampton in the English Premier League. Even though Wolves haven’t done very well as a team, Cunha has been shining with his performances for both his club and the Brazilian national team.
Before this season, Cunha struggled to find his form. He was loaned to Atletico Madrid from Wolves but didn’t perform very well there either. However, after returning to the Premier League, he has shown what he can really do. Cunha has scored 15 goals and provided 6 assists in 29 league matches.

His latest goal came against Leicester City yesterday, and it helped him make history. Cunha is now tied for the most goals scored by a Brazilian in a single Premier League season. Roberto Firmino (Liverpool) and Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal) also scored 15 goals in one season. Cunha still has the chance to break this record and make it his own.
Wolves are not doing very well as a team. A few years ago, they regularly played in European competitions, but now they sit 13th in the league table. After their win against Leicester, they have 41 points from 34 matches. Even if they win all their remaining four games, they still won’t qualify for European football.
Because of this, Cunha is likely looking to leave Wolves. Manchester United are very eager to sign him and are ready to pay over £62 million for the striker. According to the English news outlet Daily Mail, Matheus Cunha is now very close to joining Manchester United.
