Dhananjaya De Silva Told Michael Atherton After The Match

“This is one of the happiest moments of my career. We had a tough time in the last two Tests, but now to come back here and win is great for me, my team and my country.”

Dhananjaya praised his opener and Player of the Match (POTM) Pathum Nissanka for his brilliant batting and also lauded the efforts of young Kamindu Mendis.

“I was talking to the boys. (Nissanka missed the first Test) I wanted him in the team, but only 11 can play. But when he got the chance he came and showed his game. It is tough to bring a new player into an established batting order, but Pathum and Kamindu are here and doing well. It is a good moment, we are going back home. We are confident that we can beat other teams in our home conditions,” he said.
