Hanuma Vihari, the experienced batter, has decided to change his team before the new domestic season. He confirmed that the Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) has been in touch with him recently. Tripura will compete in the Elite division in both red-ball and white-ball cricket. Tapan Lodh, former TCA president and current member, also said that Vihari was one of the players they were considering to sign.
“I was already thinking about changing teams, and Tripura has been approaching me for quite a while,” Vihari said to Cricbuzz.
Lodh said, “We suggested a few players to the association to sign as professionals. I can’t reveal all the names, but I am sure Vihari will be one of them.”
Hanuma Vihari has played 131 First-Class matches and 97 List-A games in his domestic career. For Andhra, he appeared in 44 matches, scoring 3,013 runs at an average of 44.97, including four centuries and 20 fifties. The 31-year-old first joined Andhra in the 2016/17 season, later moved back to Hyderabad, and then returned to Andhra for the past few seasons.
