Ahead of the first match of IPL 2025, mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy said that he is excited to face Virat Kohli in the first match of the season. Varun, who has been in great form since his return to the national team, will be very confident.

Varun Chakravarthy said in the pre-match press conference, “I am definitely excited to play against Virat. Obviously, he has batted well against me and I would also like to do well against him.”
Varun has taken 31 wickets since his return to the T20I format. The spinner has bowled at a brilliant strike rate of 8.9 in his last 12 matches and his confidence is at its peak at the moment. The spin duo of Varun and Narine can be a big threat to any batting attack in the tournament. Both the players are full of confidence after winning the title last season, so both the bowlers can perform brilliantly against RCB on March 22.
Varun also praised his teammate Sunil Narine, saying, “He is a legend of the game, one of the great players. This year we have had some talks with him and he looks quite well prepared. He is ready to play in the IPL exactly the same way as he did last year.” He further explained what strategy he would like to adopt this season. Varun said that he would like to improve his packaging this season.
