Neymar Gets Hurt Again After Returning

Neymar’s injury news is upsetting for many fans. He had just come back to the field last Sunday after missing six weeks due to an injury. But on Thursday, when he started the match again, he got hurt once more. This time, it was the same injury in his left thigh.

Neymar seemed shocked and heartbroken. As he was taken off the field in a cart, he was seen crying. It’s still unclear how long the 33-year-old will be out this time.

The match was against Atletico Mineiro and was special — it was Neymar’s 100th match at Santos’ home stadium, Villa Belmiro. But his team was already down 2–0 in the first 27 minutes. Then Neymar looked to the bench asking for a substitution and sat down on the field.

He couldn’t walk and had to be taken off in a cart. Players from both teams comforted him as he left. He later sat on the sidelines with tears in his eyes and an ice pack on his thigh.

Neymar had the same injury earlier in a Campeonato Paulista match, which kept him out of Brazil’s World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Argentina. He returned last Sunday as a substitute against Fluminense, but now he’s hurt again.

Since the 2016–17 season, Neymar hasn’t been able to play 35 matches in one season. He’s also been out of the national team since October 2023. So it’s understandable that he became emotional after getting injured again.
