Team India likely to release Sarfaraz Khan for Irani Cup: The two-match Test series between India and Bangladesh has started. The first Test of the series between the two teams was played in Chennai from 19 to 22 September, in which Team India performed brilliantly and defeated Bangladesh by 280 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the series and now the second Test of the series is to be played at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur from 27 September.
For this match, BCCI had announced the squad as soon as the first Test ended and retained the same 16 players. The players selected for the second Test also include Sarfaraz Khan, who could not play the first match due to KL Rahul. Now it seems that Sarfaraz will not play in the second Test as well, because an important news is coming out about him.

Sarfaraz Khan can be released from Team India’s squad
In fact, a Times of India report claims that the BCCI is considering releasing Sarfaraz Khan from the Indian squad for the Irani Cup to be played between October 1 and 5, so that he can participate in the match for Mumbai. In such a situation, there is little hope that this batsman will get a place in the playing 11 for the second Test. However, if a player gets injured at the last moment, then Sarfaraz will not be released. A source said about this,
“Indian team chief selector Ajit Agarkar believes that Sarfaraz should be released from the squad except for last minute injuries or fitness issues in the nets to allow him to play in the Irani Cup. Although it takes about an hour to reach Lucknow from Kanpur, so Sarfaraz can leave for Lucknow even after the Kanpur Test starts.”
Let us tell you that the Irani Cup was earlier to be held in Mumbai but then it was shifted to Lucknow. In the match, Mumbai, which won the recent Ranji season, will face the Rest of India team. Apart from Sarfaraz, Shreyas Iyer and Shardul Thakur are also likely to play for Mumbai, while the team will be led by experienced Ajinkya Rahane.
